How I Sew My Own Pajamas
I’ve always had a hard time finding store-bought pajamas that fit me well, so about two years ago, I started making my own, and I’ve been really pleased with the results.

Guess what was on my front porch today? That’s right – my second stitch fix box!
After my last fix was so dark, I did everything I could to get a better one this time. I specifically listed the colors I like (warm yellows, greens, plummy purples, oranges, blues) and over the past few weeks, I pinned colorful blouses and sweaters and dresses, with polka dots and flowers on my Pinterest stitch fix board. You know what I didn’t pin? A ton of black! Holy cow. How does this keep happening? It’s not all bad, though. Let’s start with the good.
My friend Jan asked if I would decorate her son Andrew’s bedroom. He is 13, and his room was full of mismatched hand-me-downs from his older sister. His new bedroom will take him through high school, and possibly beyond.
I’ve been living in this house for about a year and a half, ever since I moved back to Florida from Washington state. As anyone who decorates knows, you’re really never “finished,” but I’m proud of what I’ve done so far, and I’m excited to share it with you!
In dire need of some new pants, I searched Pinterest for black skinny pants, and stumbled across Stitch Fix. I was pretty excited about this service. It sounded so easy and convenient. I went online and filled out a style profile, and scheduled a fix. My personal stylist reviewed the notes I left and chose five items for me.
